Intense fighting on the Leningrad front is reported by the “Izvestia.” Russian mobile detachments have outflanked a number of German centres of resistance. The ,Germans are counterattacking, in an attempt to break the tightening circle. An official German announcement states that Himmler has established his own headquarters on the Eastern front. The Berlin news agency reports that von Ribbentrop has arrived at Budapest, on a two day visit.
