(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LAUNCESTON, January 3. ■An Australian who volunteered to become a human torpedo against the Japanese has been told that such methods will not be countenanced by the Federal Government at this stage. This was revealed by the Minister of the Navy, Mr Makin, who added the man had been thanked for his patriotic offer. The man offered his life after it had been reported that the Japanese were using one-man controlled torpedoes.
