Sir,—From authentic church records the following list of candidates for baptism between the year 1856 and 1868, chronologically revised according to dates of birth of each child, may settle claims as to who was rightly to be considered Masterton's first-born child. These 50 names from a full Wairarapa district Baptismal Roll of ten times the residual number during the same extent of years are, in any 1 case, worthy of record in your widely-read columns.
