For Possession of Crimea SITUATION DECLARED SERIOUS Messages from Moscow state that the battle for the Crimea is becoming more savage. A few days ago a big battle developed near Kerch. The enemy tried to turn the Russian defensive line but failed to overcome the resistance of the Russian troops, air and naval forces. The situation, however, is serious. The Germans claim to have captured several fortifications south of Kerch. They report also the heavy bombing of Russian shipping in the Strait of Kerch and at Sebastopol.
