A special German statement announcing the capture of Tallinn, said that troops, in conjunction with the Navy and Air Force, took Tallinn after hard fighting. The troops in the same day advanced to Paldiski, which is equipped in a very modern way, and captured it also, with several thousand prisoners and six coastal batteries. In the port of Tallinn nineteen transports laden with troops and war materials, were also destroyed. Nine other warships had been sunk, the heavy cruiser Kirov destroyed, and five other warships seriously damaged (the announcement does not state by whom).
