ENEMY RAIDS
ON THE SUEZ CANAL AREA
AND ON ALEXANDRIA
SOME DAMAGE & CASUALTIES.
LONDON. August 12
Last night enemy planes were over the Suez Canal area. Some damage was caused to property and there were a few casualties. Enemy planes also bombed Alexandria. Four people were injured but the damage was slight.
OTHER ATTACKS TWO RAIDERS SHOT DOWN AT MALTA. LONDON. August 12. Two enemy bombers were shot down over Malta last night by fighters. There were no or damage. Cyprus was also ineffectively raided this morning. BRITISH ONSLAUGHT EFFECTIVE BLOWS STRUCK IN LIBYA. AND AGAINST SHIPPING IN SICILY. LONDON. August 12. In Libya, aircraft of the Fleet Air Arm, in co-oporation with the R.A.F., have delivered fresh blows at vital links in the enemy’s supply system: Attacks have been made on various objectives in Bardia, Benghazi, and Tripoli and also on shipping in Sicily All the British planes returned.
