SUNDAY SCHOOL
METHODIST COMPETITIONS SINGING & READING. RESULTS OF LAST EVENING’S CONTESTS. Children’s voices brought pleasure to parents and friends of the Masterton Methodist Sunday School last night when the annual competitions of the school were held. A lengthy programme based on hymn book and ■ Bible was expeditiously put through by the school superintendent, Mr J. H. Conly, and the staff .' The judges were Mrs H. Pinkney (singing) and Miss B. Chisholm (readings and recitations), of Solway College, the Rev. H. .S. Kings (Bible story), Mr F. G. Rutter (Bible knowledge) and Mr S. B. McLennan, A.R.C.A. (art work). Mrs Pinkney and Miss Chisholm were presented with dainty bouquets of sweets, the' work of Nola Saunders. Mrs G. Whitlock sympathetically accompanied the young vocalists. Mr Kings led the opening devotions and presented certificates to the winners. Complimentary reference and helpful criticism were given by the judges.
