AIR FORCE RELATIONS
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. PARCELS PACKED FOR SOLDIERS. At the monthly meeting of the Air Force Relations Committee the following members were present:—Mesdames H. J. W. Lord (in the chair), P. Nathan, S. J. Gill,'J. A. Betts, A. Harcombe, gnd L. Gray. An apology for absence was received from Mrs G. W. Sellar.
It was reported that the committee had packed for sending overseas 226 tins of food, including fruit cakes, barley sugar, coffee and milk, condensed milk, tinned butter, cheese and tongues. Sweet things are definitely in demand. Wellington reports that four cases of foodstuffs were sent to England last month. The branch also sent 29 pullovers, 18 balaclavas (with holes at the ears for telephones), 2 pairs mittens, and 1 pair black socks. A letter received from the headquarters states: —“Would you please ask balaclava knitters.to continue the ribbing to the top of the head, until beginning to decrease (the men say they fit better under the helmets); also to pick up only 70 stitches around the face, and not to stitch the ear flaps down. Pullovers are now to measure 15 inches before commencing the arm-
hole.” I The committee wish to thank the following helpers and donors of tinned food: —Mesdames J. Bird, T. Beetham, C. Bennett, R. Bunny, J. A. Betts. A. W. Buchanan, G. Beard, D.
