GIFT AFTERNOON

O. CHURCH OF EPIPHANY LADIES’ GUILD. A SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION. The Church of Epiphany Ladies’ Guild held a most successful gift afternoon on Tuesday. There was a good attendance and the response was considered very satisfactory. Those present stood in silence for a few moments as a mark of respect to the memory of the late Mrs Judd. Reference was paid to the interest she had taken in the Guild’s affairs and her personal qualities were eulogised. Reference was made to the fact that Mrs Andrew was absent owing to illness.

Elocutionary items were given by Mrs Robert Miller, songs were contributed by Miss E. Hirst and pianoforte items by Mrs W. G. Perry were appreciated. An address was given by Archdeacon E. J. Rich (reported in yesterdays issue). Afternoon tea was served. At the conclusion of the function, Mrs F. Whitton (president) thanked all who had contributed towards the success of the gathering.
