“HERE COMES THE BRIDE”
PLANNING FOR THE WEDDING. Weddings are in the air. Whether yon are going to be a white bride, drifting mistily to slow music, or a war bride as trimly suited as your uniformed hero, it is certain that every detail of your toilet will be examined by an alarming battery of eyes. Alarming—that is—if you can’t take it. When planning your wedding array, plan from the skin out. and plan in time. Last moment orders and alterations . are seldom satisfactory. Start with your foundations. It is a good plan to get two of the same model, have them perfectly fitted and any adjustments they may need, carried out by the corsetiere. Then wear one at home until you get the “feel” of it. Because modern foundations do things to the posture, make you live up to them and walk and sit with more ease and grace. Thoroughly at home in your foundation you wear its twin, fresh] and fragrant from its tissue wrappings, on the great day.
If possible, try on your dress when it is being made, over your foundation. A satin, sheath-like dress is revealing and has more high-lights than a dull material. Search for evidence o‘' your foundation. If there is a line where it ends or the slightest bulge or wrinkle anywhere you must get the corsetiere to find you a model that ends in the right place for you. Fgures are quite individual, and corsetry is designed in multiple fittings as meticulously as are shoes. Get your foundation perfect, and your dress will fall more beautifully, stay “put" at the shoulders and fastenings, and leave you free of doubt and ready to take the limelight. The long-lined models you choose for your wedding dress are perfect with evening wear and the close fitted fine wool frocks and hostess .coats, so popular with brides. If you are going to be married in a tailor-made or threepiece ensemble, tell the corsetiere. who may suggest a different style foundation. Or better still, have the suit or dress lilted over the foundation. Corsetry is the basis of fashion and ensures the lines that fashion demands.
