MASTERTON COLLIE CLUB’S MEETING HIGH STANDARD MAINTAINED. RESULTS OF SHORTHEAD EVENTS. The Masterton Collie Club's sheep deg trials were continued in improved weather at Te Ore Ore today. The short-head and yard events were concluded and the Huntaway events will finish this afternoon. The judge. Mr J. Borlase, Nelson, stated that the standard set in all events was high. On the first two days the cold weather had made the sheep touchy and added to the dogs’ difficulties. Results are: — Shorthead and yard: M. J. Wilton's Bessie Wallace, 54 points, 1; C. J. Macdonald's Ruarata Fay. 53 points, 2; S. F. Herbert's Jet, 51J points, 3; J. F. Wilsher's Ray, 491 points, 4; B. Vallance's Bess. 48 points. 5. Maiden Shorthead and yard: B. Vallance's Speed. 30 points. 1; C. J. Hay's Glen, 25 points. 2; A. H. Falloon's Jock. 24 points. 3; K. A. Wilton's Jill, 21 points, 4.
