BOMBS FOR GERMANY

THREE TO ONE IN NEAR PROSPECT IN SPITE OF HITLER’S BOAST. COMMENT ON HIS BALKAN STATISTICS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day. 12.20 p.m.) LONDON, May 5. The “Daily Telegraph" says Hitler’s speech was pitched on a perceptibly lower key than might have been expected when he was celebrating his victory in. the Balkans. The statistics of German, casualties obviously were compiled in order to present a comforting contrast to the British estimate. It seems that Hitler felt compelled to reassure the Germans regarding the increasing British bombs. Hitler last September threatened one hundred bombs for every one British bomb. The truth is that he is unable today to drop two to one. The lime is certainly coming when, as Mr Churchill predicted last week. Britain will be dropping three for every one dropped on Britain.
