SUCCESSFUL DANCE

ST JOHN AMBULANCE EFFORT. GATHERING AT MASONIC HALL. The Masonic Hall. Masterton. was filled to capacity on Saturday night when there was an attendance of three hundred at a dance held by the St John Ambulance Brigade. The music was supplied by Jack Barnes’s Orchestra and the duties of M.C. were carried out by the Cadet Superintendent, Mr C. S. McQuade. Novelty dances were held. The Monte Carlo waltz competition was won by Mrs T. Hughes and Mr M. Ward and the lucky spot quickstep competition by Miss Y. Foster and Mr Searancke. Extras were played by Mr Don Cullen.

During the dance Mr McQuade expressed the division's thanks to the ladies’ committee for the way they had carried out the difficult task of providing supper for such a large attendance. He thanked patrons for their attendance and announced that the next dance would be held on May 10.
