WEDDINGS

THOMPSON—BROCKETT. The marriage took place at St. Matthew’s Church, Masterton, yesterday, of Edna Dorothy, daughter of Mr and Mrs F. C. Brockett, of Masterton, and Selwyn David, son' of Mr and Mrs David Thompson, of “Ardyne,” Waihao Downs, Waimate. • The Venerable Archdeacon E. J. Rich officiated and Mr Miller Hope presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore cream lace over satin, the flowing veil being held in place by a coronet of pearls and orange blossoms. Her bouquet consisted of chrysanthemums, begonias and maiden-hair fern. The bride was attended by her cousin, Miss Betty Brockett (Auckland), whose frock was of pink taffeta. She carried a bouquet to tone. The bridegroom was supported by his brother, Mr Norman Thompson, as best man.

A reception was held at the Empire Hotel, where the guests were received by the parents of the bride and bridegroom.

Mr and Mrs Thompson later left by motor car on their honeymoon, the bride wearing a blue costume with accessories to tone.

SAVAGE—HART. A pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Patrick’s Church yesterday morning, when Miss Mary Josephine (Mollie) Hart, was married to Mr Peter Savage. The bride, who was escorted by her elder brother, Mr John Hart, of Wanganui, looked charming in a gown 'of magnolia satin, cut on classical lines, and falling to form a slight train at the ‘ back. The frock had long shirred sleeves, and a small Peter Pan collar. She wore a beautiful veil of lace, held in place by a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses, white carnations and maidenhair fern. The two bridesmaids, Misses Ysabel Stilburn (chief; and Norma Hansen (Gisborne) were dressed in smart frocks of Marina blue, tight fitting at the waist with very full skirts. Silver coatees, which were worn over the frocks, had long sleeves, and were buttoned right up the front. They wore 'silver hoods lined with blue, which, when thrown back formed cowl collars. They each carried a sheaf of autumn flowers. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr John Savage, and Mr W. Stilburn was groomsman. Mrs Hart entertained immediate relatives at an informal reception. She wore a black ensemble, with black accessories, with a shoulder spray of roses. The bridegroom’s mother wore a smart fur coat over a green frock with a shoulder spray. When Mr and Mrs Sqyage left on their honeymoon the bride wore a snjart clover frock and coat, with navy accessories.
