GOLD MINING

COMPANY RETURNS.

Wellington Alluvials Ltd. reports that during the four weeks ended February 1. the dredge worked 478 hours handling 239,000 yards of material and recovered bullion estimated to contain 555 ounces of fine gold. Operating hours were seriously curtailed through flooding of the Macquarie River and to ensure its safety the dredge was turned off its course away from the main lead.

The Maori Gold weekly return was 470 z. 15dwt. of retorted gold from 9000 yards in 118 hours.
