SALE AT FEILDINO FAT SHEEP PRICES LOWER. GOOD VALUES FOR BEEF. (By Telegraph—Press Association.! FEILDING. January 10. For the first sale of the New Year there were heavy yardings. Included in the store sheep pens were lines of wether lambs, these showing generally good condition, though rain is needed. An odd pen of two-tooth owes was offered. The fat pens comprised an average yarding with a very sticky market, vendors being compelled to accept lower prices. There was a heavy yarding of beef cattle, mostly ex-dairy. These sold at good prices. Run cattle were not easy of sale and some passings were reported. Only a few odd dairy cows were offered:—

Prime fat lambs. 18s.: ditto, not of first quality, 15s. 4d. to 17s. 7d.; prime black faces, heavy. 235. Id. to 235. 4d.; good, 20s. JOd. to 21s. 4d.; light, from 14s. 4d.; prime ewes, heavy. 13s. 7d. to 14s. Id.; average. 12s. Ifld. to 13s. 4d.: light, from 12s. Id.; prime wethers, heavy, in wool 28s. CARTERTON SALE GOOD DEMAND FOR STOCK LATE RATES RECORDED. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co.. as follows: —A good yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward at Carterton Sale yesterday and was offered to a large attendance. All classes of stock sold well up to late rates, and a total clearance was effected under the hammer at the following prices:— Sheep:—Fat wethers, 245. Gd. to 255.; fat lambs 17s, to 21s. Gd.; fat ewes <shorn), 14s„ 14s. Gd. to 155.; fat owes •woolly), to 16s. Gd.; small woolly ewe. lambs, to 12s. 3d.; cull ewe lambs, to 7s. 9d.; small woolly wether lambs. Bs. to 10s.; cull wether lambs, 'to 6s.
