As the department which declined is the key branch of the works there was no indication tonight that work would begin before 8 a.m. tomorrow. It is understood that sufficient men were available at the works today to kill 7000 lambs, but only 5700 were dealt with. The daily kill this week has varied and the position is said to be unsatisfactory. Heavy bookings arc available for next week and if the stock comes forward the company is prepared to deal with 7500. lambs dailv.
Representatives of the men met tonight. The whole question of overtime will be discussed by the union on Mondav.
