COUNTER AND DEFY SUCCESSFUL CORNISH SALUTES JUDGE AT ELLERSLIE SOUTHLAND CUP TO MONA’S SONG (BY “THE GRAFTER.") At the Levin Racing Club's meeting yesterday Dark Eagle won the Birthday Handicap, while the Masterton horses, Counter and Defy were also successful. The sprint went to Wings of Song. The St. Andrew’s Handicap at the Auckland meeting went to the favourite Cornish. By annexing the Pupuke Plate Foxola won her fifth race in succession. Tho Southland Cup was won by Mona’s Song, while Wild Career was successful in the Flying Handicap.
