♦ PRODUCTION IN CANADA. OUTPUT EXPANDING APACE. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.40 a.m.) OTTAWA, November 25. The Munitions Department announced that production of high explosives exceeds one-third of the full output scheduled for the middle of 1941. This has entailed the construction of fifteen plants, several comparable with any throughout the Empire. Over 10.000 men were employed in their construction. The present programme provides all the necessary materials to fill all shells, bombs and mines manufactured in Canada and permits the export of large quantities of explosives and chemicals overseas or to the United States. All the projects should be under production by July. The Minister of Munitions. Mr C. D. Howe, said deliveries of single-engined training planes will bo completed fifteen months ahead and after January the companies will be enabled to devote their full facilities to the manufacture of other types.
