PREPARATIONS FOR WESTWARD OFFENSIVE MECHANISED & OTHER UNITS AT HANKOW. NEW BLOW AT CHUNGKING. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright l (Received This Day. 9.5 a.m.) LASHIO, November 25. A well-informed European authority, in a statement to the Press, said the Japanese are massing mechanised units and chemical corps, also many divisions at Hankow, preparing for a general offensive westward. He said Japanese troops from Nanning and also heavy bombers from Hanoi have been concentrated at Hankow to assist in a planned death blow to Chungking. RUMANIAN OIL SOME GOING TO BESSARABIA POOR OUTLOOK FOR GERMANY. It is announced, the 8.8. C. reports, that Rumania is to supply oil to Bessarabia, the province recently taken over by Russia. It is explained that it would be difficult for Russia to send oil to Bessarabia. If that is so, Germany's chances of getting much oil from Russia are regarded as slim.
