GRAIN AND PRODUCE

CANTERBURY MARKETS. LITTLE ACTIVITY REPORTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, October 3. There has been little activity in any section of the grain and produce markets this week. The spring wheat sowing, which was delayed in some parts of the province by unfavourable weather, is practcially complete. It has been impossible to sow some areas which were intended for wheat, particularly in the Ellesmere district, and earlier estimates of the total area of 300,000 Acres have had to be revised. No armouncement has been made about the further export of potatoes to Australia, and little interest is being taken in the market.
