SUNK BY BRITISH SUBMARINE \ ■ ONE VICTIM A MINE-LAYING DESTROYER. TORPEDOED IN ADRIATIC. It is officially announced, the 8.8. C, states, that a British submarine torpedoed and sank an Italian destroyer in the Adriatic on September 22. The destroyer was one of 960 tons, and was fitted for mine-laying. She had a speed of 32 knots, and carried a comple- ’ ment of 105. The submarine responsible was H.M.S. Osiris. On September 9 the same submarine sank an Italian supply ship of 3000 tons in the Mediterranean.
