MEAT ROLL

SOMETHING TASTY FOR MONDAY'S DINNER.

Chop some cold meat into dice, add half as much cold potato, ’also cut into dice 2 tablespoons shredded and cooked bacon. 2 teaspoons finely-chopped parsley. 2 tablespoons grated onion, pepper, salt and a little ground mace to taste and enough thick white sauce to bind mixture together. Roll out shortcrust about half an inch thick, spread well and rather thickly with mixture; roll up and place in a well-greased baking tin. Bake in a moderate oven for about 45 minutes. Serve with a wellflavoured sauce, which could be made from any left-over gravy.
