SHIPPING DIVERTED

FROM THE MEDITERRANEAN ROUTE. BRITISH PRECAUTIONS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day. 10.45 a.m') LONDON, April 30. The Government, as a precautionary measure, is diverting British shipping from the Mediterranean. The Associated Press learns on most reliable authority that these precautions have been taken because of the character of pronouncements by responsible Italians and also the attitude of the Italian Press. Britain does not intend to continue the precautions longer than is necessary.
