RUGBY TOUR
> CALIFORNIAN JOINT INVITATION. TO AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 11.0 a.m) SYDNEY. This Day. The California Rugby Union has invited a combined Australian and New Zealand team to visit California early in 1941. with a return visit in June of the same year. The proposal was submitted to the New South Wales Rugby Union by Mr W. Hcslehurst. a former Sydney referee, whose position takes him periodically to America. The New South Wares Union decided to ask for further details, but informed Mr Hcslehurst that an Australian team wjould not contemplate making the trip while the war was on.
