LOST BALLOT BOX

VOTING IN FRENCH CHAMBER INFLUENCE ON DALADIER’S RESIGNATION. UNFORTUNATE ACCIDENT ADMITTED. Ry. Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Dav, 11.15 a.m.) PARIS. March 26. It is disclosed that a ballot box containing votes for M. Daladier last week went astray, and that Deputies whose votes were missing were put down as abstaining. Thus the missing votes probably played an important part in influencing M. Daladier to resign. The disclosure followed on. a Deputy’s complaint that, although he voted for the Government, his name was included amongst the abstentions. A secretary thereupon admitted an "unfortunate accident.” The smallness of the room where the votes were counted and the lateness of the hour are believed to be responsible.
