WELLINGTON, This Day. After the announcement of Air Savage’s death had been made officially, a brief tribute was made publicly. It briefly traced the late Prime Alinisler’s career from boyhood and slated that his quiet sincerity, accompanied by great strength of character, had left a deep impression on all whom be met. During his illness, messages of sympathy were received from all over Die Empire, including those from the King and Qnen. and Die Prime Minister of Great Britain. The tribute concludes: “Mr. Savage had a profound love and regard for Now Zealand and its people and his work for the aged, ailing and young has won him the affection and love of thousands of people in .the Dominion. A man

of simple tastes, he was fond of his home ami enjoyed nothing more than a quiet conversation with his many friends. Those who were closely associated with him feel a sense of irreparable loss. Ilis personality, his selflessness and his messages of sympathy to all in trouble will'keep his memory alive in the hearts of the people.”
