Miss Jean Ede, of .Ashburton, who had been visiting her sister Mrs J. N. Leadley of Bently Street. Masterton. left for the south this morning.
Mrs A. C. Feast, of Rhodes Street, Carterton, has left for Gore, with her son Trevor. Mrs Feast will be away from Carterton for about a month. Miss Dorothy Downing. Tinakori Road. Wellington, has been notified that she is. the winner of the 1939 scholarship for pianoforte offered by the Royal College of Music, London. This scholarship entitles the winner to two years' free tuition at the college in London. However, because of the war and the danger of sea travel, winners of scholarships need not take immediate advantage of them, but may postpone the tutorial period till after the war.
