TENNIS MATCH WIN FOR CROSS CREEK. (“Times-Age” Special.) In a match played during the weekend at Featherston. Cross Creek defeated Featherston by 19 sets to 14 and 203 games to 179. A very enjoyable evening was held in the Anzac Hall, when the Featherston branch of the Wairarapa Returned Soldiers’ Association held a social to welcome Leading-Seaman C. Ashworth, of H.M.S. Achilles, and the Featherston members of the 2nd Echelon. The guests of the evening were; Leading-Seaman C. Ashworth (H.M.S. Achilles), Messrs. D. Benton, R. Blain, W. Charles, R. Drew, of the Second Echelon, and Messrs. A. Ashworth, S. Benton and J. Blain, fathers of the soldiers. Apologies were received from C. Brash (H.M.S. Achilles) and I. Blain (Air Force). Other Featherston members of the 2nd Echelon were unable to be present owing to being away visiting relatives. The following toasts were honoured: —“The King,” proposed by Mr. A. R. Robbins; "The Boys of the 2nd Echelon” (Mr. F. S. Hayes—R. Blain); "The Boys of the Achilles” (Dr G. S. Sharp—Leading-Seaman C. Ashworth); "Parents of our Sailor and Soldier Guests" (Mr. D. H. S.
