“THE AWFUL TRUTH." J Columbia’s new Irene Dunne comedy, “The Awful Truth." will be shown tonight at the Cosy Theatre. It presents the beautiful star in the most outstanding production of her brilliant career. Following her grand performance in “Theodora Goes Wild.” in which she was cast as a scintillating comedienne, Miss Dunne emerges more brilliantly and more exciting than ever in her latest achievement. Cary Grant, her co-star, is perfectly cast in the role of her handsome young husband, and the two romp through a series of madcap escapades in a merry mix-up of matrimonial misunderstandings. Contributing towards much of the fun is that splendid canine player, Asta, renowned for his roles in the “Thin Man” series. He is responsible for much of the mischief caused between the two leads, but is also instrumental in bringing about their happy reunion. Ralph. Bellamy. popular young leading man. heads a large supporting cast including Joyce Compton, Marguerite Churchill. Robert Allen and Esther Dale.

The associate feature is the amazingly frank “Girls’ School." telling the story of a hundred hearts trembling on the verge of a hundred breathless tomorrows. Anne Shirley. Ralph Bellamy and Nan Grey are the principals in a which tenderly and dramatically captures the spirit of young girlhood and romance. Others in the cast are Gloria Holden. Margaret Tallichet, Noah Beery Junr., Kenneth Howell. Heather Thatcher. Pierre Watkin and Marjorie Main.
