WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

KAIPARORO ANNUAL MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual meeting of the Kaiparoro Women’s Institute was held in the hall on Tuesday afternoon. In the absence of the president, Mrs Burton, Mrs J. Dick presided. The following were elected members of the committee: —Mrs Burton (president), Miss Parry (secretary), Mrs Welch - (vice-president), Mrs G. Hansen (treasurer). Miss E. Dick (press correspondent), Mrs G. Dick and Mrs A. Falkner. The points prizes won during the year were presented to Miss A. Dick for general competitions, and to Miss Parry for flowers. The monthly competition, one for an apple tart, was won by Miss A. Dick with Mrs Welch second. The contest for the best frock to cost no more than 10s was won by Miss McAnualty, with Miss A. Dick second. The best bloom was exhibited by Mrs Welch, Mrs Parry being second.

Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Harvey and J. McAnualty Junr.
