MASTERTON CLUB. YOUNG BIRD SEASON. The Masterton Homing Pigeon Club opened the young bird season with a Hock race from Dannevirke. an airline distance of GO miles. Sixty-three birds were liberated in a westerly gale and the first six places for the club points were: I. Mayes's “Courageous”, 892yds per minute, 1; J. M. The second race was from Waipawa (90 miles airline) and fifty-seven birds were sent away in a strong westerly win and heavy rain. I. Mayes's bird was again the winner, the first six places being filled as follows: —I. Mayes’s "Courageous", 989yds per minute, 1; Stears and Miller’s “Spanish Don". 988.4yds per minute, 2; J. M.
