OBITUARY MRS S. A. HEBLEY. (“Times-Age” Special.) The death occurred at Greytown yesterday of Mrs Sarah Ann Hebley, widow of the late Mr Jacob Hebley. The late Mrs Hebley, who was 90 years of age, had resided in Greytown for the past fifty or sixty years. She had been in failing health for some time past but until comparatively recently, had a particularly retentive memory. She endeared herself to those who knew her by her many fine personal qualities. She is survived by one son, Mr F. R. Hebley. Featherston, and two daughters, Mrs G. Gallagher, Palmerston North, and Miss R. Hebley, Greytown. BOWLING COMPETITIONS. In lhe champion singles N. McLeod beat F. Dennes, by one point scored on the last head. Playing for the Gold Badges Dennes and Shedden beat Connolly and Carter. Brunton, the holder of the Dennes Medal, beat Connolly but subsequently lost to T. Nelson, a first year player. Dark Town Fire Brigade. An alarm of fire was 'sounded at 8 o'clock on Saturday evening, and the Dark Town Brigade commandeered the fire engine and made for the scene of the fire in front of the Town Hall. The driver, however, went straight on to Ihe ice cream shop. The brigadesmen were eventually persuaded to attend to their work and succeeded in putting more water on the onlookers and'themselves than the fire. This was the final act in the centennial celebrations in Greytown. Personal Items. Mrs Collins and Miss Molly Collins, of Hastings, are visiting Mrs H. Cook, of East Street. Mrs E. Graham, of Levin, was a visitor to Greytown for the Centennial celebrations. The Hon. Walter Nash and Mrs Nash were spectators at the pageant in lhe Memorial Park on Saturday.
