NAZI ATTACK
LIKELY TO BE LAUNCHED IN SPRING
ACCORDING TO LORD LOTHIAN.
SEA POWER THE KEY TO VICTORY
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. NEW YORK, January 4. Speaking in Chicago, Lord Lotbian, British Ambassador, said he expected that, Germany in the spring would launch a terrific attack on England and France by land, air and sea, since the issue before Germany was world empire or downfall.
He said the Allies were ready, but wanted the United States of America to understand the distinct possibility of “an unutterable disaster, which would extinguish light and freedom in Europe.” "We believe we shall successfully repel the German attack, and if it is repelled as it was in 1918, it will not be long before Hitlerism goes down in defeat,” said Lord Lothian. Lord Lothian described sea power as the key to victory. So long as Germany thought she could wrest that power from Great Britain, she would not think of peace, except that kind of peace which would enable her to renew her attacks in a short time under more favourable conditions.
