POINTON-TILDESLEY. i A quiet wedding took place at St. Matthew’s Church, on Thursday, when Bernice Eileen, only daughter of Mrs A. and the late Mr H. A. Tildesley, Essex Street, Masterton, was married to John Francis Pointon, second son of Mrs and the late Mr F. W. Pointon. Wellington. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. E. J. Rich. The bride, who was escorted by her uncle, Mr W. Howard, Masterton. was attired in a petrol blue ensemble, with accessories to tone. She carried a bouquet of cyclamen shaded carnations and gladioli. The matron-of-honour, Mrs Geoffrey Robinson (cousin of the bride), wore a navy blue costume brocaded with petrol blue, and carried a bouquet to tone. The best man was Mr Geoffrey Robinson, Johnsonville. As the bride was leaving the church she was presented with a silver horse shoe by the sister of the bridegroom, Pamela Pointon. A reception was held at the bride’s home, a buffet afternoon tea being served to immediate relatives. The lounge was decorated with masses of' blue delphiniums and sweet peas. Mrs Tildesley received her guests wearing a navy and white ensemble, and carrying a bouquet of carnations. Mrs Pointon wore a brown and white striped ensemble, and carried a bouquet to tone. Telegrams were received from wellwishers throughout the North Island. Mr and Mrs Pointon left on a tour of the North Island, prior tp Mr Pointon returning to duty with the R.N.Z.A.F. JONES—KILMISTER. A wedding in which considerable interest centred was celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, Masterton, on Tuesday, when Phyllis May, only daughter of Mr and Mrs F. J. Kilmister, was married to John Maxwell Jones, only son of Mr and Mrs W. Jones, Te Whiti, Masterton. The church was beautifully decorated by the Brigidine Nuns with flowers, Christmas lilies and gladiolas being prominent. The Rev. Father Moore performed | the ceremony and celebrated Nuptual Mass. Mrs Bunny presided at the organ. During the Mass Miss 'Mary Diggins rendered a vocal accompaniment. Escorted by her father the . bride made a charming picture in her graceful frock of white lace and georgette. The heart-shaped neckline was finished with a tiny rosebud trimming and the tight fitting sleeves with points over the hand. The skirt was pannelled lace and georgette and her headdress was a' beautiful coronet of orange blossom and pearls from which fell a beautiful tulle veil, lent by an old school mate of the bride. A full shower bouquet of lilies, carnations and white roses, gypsophlia and maidenhair fern provided the finishing touches. There were two bridesmaids 'in attendance,' Miss Rosalie Percy (chief) and Miss Isabella Jones (sister of the bridegroom) who were dressed alike in frocks of lettuce green crinkled georgette and lace trimmed with pink rosebuds. The bodices had heartshaped necklines and short puffed sleeves, and they wore mittens of georgette and lace. The skirts were panels of georgette and lace. The headdress was of green net with a pink rose. They carried bouquets of pink carnations and roses. Mr Colin Lambert (Eketahuna) was best man. Mr Stuart Fife (Wellington) carried out the duties of groomsman.
At the reception following, held at the Prince of Wales Hotel, Mr and Mrs Kilmister entertained about 90 guests. Mrs Kilmister, mother of the bride, wore an ensemble frock of oyster grey with cyclamen trimmings and hat to match, and her posy was of cyclamen toning anemonies and gladiolas to tone. Mrs Jones, the mother of the bridegroom, wore a navy floral ensemble and navy hat with a spray of roses and her posy was of scarlet carnations and roses. The usual felicitations were offered and toasts honoured. Later Mr and Mrs Jones left by car for a tour of the North Island. The bride travelled in a smart cyciamen coat and frock with accessories to match. As the bride was leaving the church Catherine Ingley and Maureen Wenavan presented her with two silver horse shoes. The gift of the bridegroom to each bridesmaid was a beaded evening purse.
