The newspaper “Journal. - ’ describing the sinking of a U-boat by a British coastal plane co-operating with the sloop Commandant Duboc. which earlier help the destroyers Sirocco and Larailleuse to sink another U-boat, says the Commandant Duboc was escorting a convoy when a seaplane signalled her and dropped smoke shells. The sloop speeded to the scene and dropped depth charges. The U-boat came to the surface on her beamends and disappeared in an enormous whirlpool.
