The special correspondent of “The Times” in the Polish town of Kaliscz. which the German army destroyed in 1914 because the population refused to submit to German rule, says the town is again the scene of German brutality. The largest church has been transformed into a prison. The Gestapo have decreed that Poles and Jews are to receive only half the food rations to which Germans are entitled. Executions' are a dally occurrence. A priest and five land-owners were executed in the market place on market day. The only charge against them was the possession of arms, which proved to be sporting rifles.
