Several aborigines have been speared to death in fighting amongst tribes on the Arnheim Land coast, near Goulburn Island, 230 miles from Darwin. Further . outbreaks of fighting are feared. The number of victims is not known in Darwin but a report from the Goulburn Island Mission stated they were all old men, who had considerable influence among warring aborigines. A patrol vessel carrying a constable is speeding from Darwin to the island.
