SOVIET TROOPS ON BORDER
SUSPECTED DEMANDS.
ATMOSPHERE OF SECRECY.
By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. LONDON, September 26. Russian troops today arrived along the Soviet-Estonian border, states a message from Tallinn. The President, M Konstantin Pats, is summoning Parliament. This will preceded by a secret meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee. General Laidonner in a speech reasserted that Estonia would defend herself to the bitter end if attacked.
A message from Moscow states that complete secrecy surrounds the cessation of the conversations between the Estonian Foreigng Minister. M Seller, and his Soviet officials. Diplomatic circles believe that Russia might be making demands. There is no indication as to whether the talks are suspended or have been broken off. The Moscow correspondent of “The Times” says the Estonian Foreign Minister was summoned at midnight to the Kremlin, where he saw a personage. He returned to his hotel, packed, spent the night at the legation and left by plane in the morning. It is reported that the Rumanian frontier is closed to traffic. The Turkish Foreign Minister has arrived and is expected to stay three .days. PERSISTENT RUMOUR APPROACH TO YUGOSLAVIA BY SOVIET. NEW YORK, September 26. The Belgrade correspondent of the “New York Times” says diplomatic circles are convinced that a rapprochement between Russia and Yugoslavia is imminent. Despite strong pro-Rus-sian sentiment among the Serbian peasants, there has been no contact diplomatically since the revolution. It is persistently rumoured that a Yugoslav delegation is going to Moscow, but this cannot be confirmed. The public is most sympathetic over the Russian incursion into Europe.
