It is not. the quantity consumed which increases the weight, but the very careful selection of the foods eaten.

The diet must be kept well balanced, with a plentitude of light sweets made from milk, lightly-cooked vegetables and meat, and a glass of warm milk whenever possible. You must also avoid indigestion, which is a frequent complaint with thin people. If youi food is not properly digested it will be impossible for it to make blood, muscle, and fat. Of course, sudden fattening cannot be expected. The increase will be gradual, and if you follow the advice given below you will find that the completely balanced diet cannot fail to bring you increased weight, new happiness, and a more promising outlook on life. Eat all the fresh greenstuff you can omitting the use of vinegar, and substituting olive oil wherever possible. Fruits and meats should be taken in sufficient quantities to balance the greenstuff, and the meals should never be heavy. It is far better to eat often than to eat heavily, and then wait a long while for the next meal. Little and. frequent should be your motto. Whenever the opportunity occurs, drink a glass of warm milk and nibble a biscuit, and each night before retiring take either a spoonful of malt, olive oil, or a glass of cocoa or one oi those patent food drinks.
