WAR WITH GERMANY LABOUR PARTY SUPPORT GOVERNMENT. (“Times-Age” Special.) At its monthly meeting last night, which was well attended, the Featherston branch of the New Zealand Labour Party unanimously passed the following resolution: — “That this meeting of the Featherston branch of the New Zealand Labour Party supports the Government in its decision to stand by Great Britain in the fight forced on the British Commonwealth of Nations by the present German ruling class. We promise individually and collectively to do all in our power to support whatever action our Government may deem necessary to bring this fight for Democratic freedom to a successful issue.” PLUNKET SOCIETY MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Plunket Society was held yesterday afternoon. Mrs Bloxam presided and there were also present Mesdames J. G. McKenzie, E. M. Wakely, G. Yule, G. S. Sharp, V. Berg, A. S. Kilsby, R. Donald, F. M. Turner, J. G. Donald. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames N. C. C. Shepherd. J. Halpin, G.. W. Brandon, J. Willett F. C. Benton, A. R. Robbens. The receipts since the last meeting amounted to £l3 5s lid. The credit balance at the Bank is £126 16s 7d. and in the Post Office Savings Band, £7OO 15s 4d. a total of £827 Ils. Accounts amounting to £5l Ils lOd were passed for payment. The nurse reported as follows: — Cases on books, 839; babies under supervision, 70; pre-school children, 36; new cases for the month, 4; visits to rooms, adults 67, babies 58, children 4, total 129; visits to homes, new cases 20, old, 35, total 55; telephone calls, 20; miles travelled, 723; districts visited, Featherston, South Featherston, Kahutara, Pukio, Pahautea. Cross Creek, Western Lake, Martinborough, Lower Valley, Dyerville. Pirinoa and Ruamahanga. GOLF LADIES’ STABLEFORD. A stableford match was played on the Gumgrove ’links on Wednesday afternoon with the following results: Mrs Benton 1. Mrs Lovegrove 2, Mrs Carlyon and Miss M. Ruane equal 3.
