ATHENIA DEATH-ROLL
GIVEN OFFICIALLY AS 128 SUBJECT TO UNREPORTED RESCUES. BY SHIPS WITHOUT WIRELESS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Dav. 9.45 a.m.) GLASGOW. September 7. The Athenia death-roll is officially stated to be 128. There is a slight hope that some people have been rescued by outward-bound vessels not equipped with radio. LANDED AT GLASGOW MRS TOMLINSON SAFE. NEW PLYMOUTH. September 7. A cable received late this afternoon by Misses P. and R. Whitton, Now Plymouth, said that Mrs Tomlinson safely landed at Glasgow after the sinking of the Athenia. Mrs Tomlinson, formerly Miss M. J. Whitton. New Plymouth, was returning with her husband to New Zealand after a tout' of the Continent. Mrs Tomlinson's husband is a brother of Mr 11. B. Tomlinson, formerly Principal of Wairarapa High School.
