MAORI CONCERT

IN AID OF PAP AW Al PA. A first-class concert will be staged in Masterton on September 13 and 14, and no Effort will be spared to make the performances second to none ever staged in the Wairarapa for many years past. The stage manager, Mr. Manahera, was in charge of the North Island natives at the Christchurch Exhibition and met with huge success on that occasion so patrons can rest assured that with the co-operation of Mr Perry and Mr. Carstens, the concert this month will be well worth attending. The entry of visiting chiefs is to be staged in a moonlight setting, the food being heated by a huge camp fire on the stage As there are so many performers, every inch of stage is to be used in the production.- A miniature meeting house is part of the stage furnishings inside a pa made to give a real traditional appearance. The box plans will open on Thursday morning next at W. G. Perry’s, where the booking will no doubt be heavy.
