WORK OF PARLIAMENT
SESSION EXPECTED TO END ' SPEEDILY. PREMIER TO BROADCAST TONIGHT. (By Telegrapn—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Formal confirmation of New Zealand’s decision to stand beside Great Britain in the war with Germany is expected to be given by the House of Representatives when it resumes today after the weekend adjournment. This is not likely to occupy more than a few moments, after which the House will give consideration to additional classes of departmental estimates. It is hardly likely that the Opposition will wish to debate the Estimates at any length. Speaking from his home at Northland, the Prime Minister, Mr Savage, will broadcast to the Dominion tonight. It is anticipated that W Savage’s talk will be principally concerned with the developments of the past few days. The general expectation in the lobbies is that the session will soon reach its close. No major legislation has been announced, and it is likely that a good many of the less important Bills which were to have been brought forward will now be dropped. In the circumstances it would be surprising if the session lasted till the end of this month.
