August 15. The Gibraltar correspondent of the Associated Press of Great Britain says the Governor, by order, has forbidden Army and Navy officers and men and dockyards employees and their families to enter Spain. This follows on the arrest on August 13 of a British officer’s wife who was fined £25 for refusing to give the Fascist salute at a bullfight at Algeciras. WHOLESALE ARRESTS MADE BY SPANISH POLICE. RELATING TO POLITICAL EVENTS. (Received This Day, 11.35 a.m.) LONDON. August 15. The British United Press Hendaye correspondent says the Spanish police are reported to be making wholesale arrests, some related to political events of 1934.
