THE “DEAD END KIDS”
GROUP MAY BREAK UP. Warners probably will drop the “Dead End Kids” after their next picture, “The Dead End Kids at Military College,” and the future of this unique group is undecided at the moment. Billy Halop, unofficial leader of the gang, will strike out on his own and try for a separate career. The others, however, probably will stick as a team for a time. They have just bought the rights to a story themselves. It’s called the “Dead End Kids at Eton,” and they’ll try to sell it and their services to some studio. They have given several notable performances as a team, especially in “Dead End.” their first picture, and young Bobby Jordan, alone, has done many fine parts in other pictures. They have not made a fortune out of their acting, but they have made quite a lot of money, which should help them until they can find new careers or other assignments.
