REGENT THEATRE
■THE LONE WOLF IN PARIS.
Bringing to the screen one of the gayest and most exciting romantic comedies of the year. "The Lone Wolf in Paris." with its colourful background of continental intrigue, proves an ideal vehicle for the charm of Francis Lederer and the beauty of Frances Drake. In this sophisticated adventure picture, which will be shown tonight at the Regent Theatre, Lederer is offered a role that fits him like the proverbial glove, and he brings to life Louis Joseph Vance’s famed gentleman crook most successfully. Frances Drake, as the beautiful Princess of Arvonne, seeking to recover the crown jewels of her country, matches Lederer with a sterling performance. Michel Lanyard, the Lone Wolf, expresses a desire to go straight. He settles down at the fashionable Hotel Napoleon in Paris, where he is still regarded with some suspicion and where his every movement is watched. Although Lanyard has every intention, he isn’t in the hotel five minutes before things begin to happen and he finds himself involved in adventure again. He gallantly makes use of his old calling in an effort to save the vitally important crown jewels for a beautiful princess of Arvonne. Adventure piles upon adventure as the story mounts to its dramatic climax that finds the princess’s country brooding on revolution. Besides Lederer and Miss Drake, the cast of fine players includes Walter Kingsford, Leona Maricle, Olaf Hytten, Albert Von Dekker, Bess Flowers, and Maurice Cass.
