CONCESSION OFFERED BY COMPANIES. PAY & HOLIDAY INCREASES. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Dav. 12.50 p.m.) LONDON, August 3. The railways companies have offered to meet representatives of the locomotive engineers and firemen to discuss claims for nay increases of a shilling a dav, with twelve instead of six days annual holidays, which they had previously rejected. A strike throat would involve 53.000 railwaymen. The concesfjlon of the full claims would cost the companies £1,269,000 a year.
