RIVERSIDE CLUB. RESULT OF STABLEFORD ROUND. The following were the best cards handed in for a Stableford round (aggregate) played last Saturday:— Ladies: Mrs Palamontain, 33 points; Miss Bakewell, 31 points; Miss Bampton, Mrs Wells, Miss Dohnt, 30 points. The following are the best cards for the first round of the Jameson fourball competition: —H. A. R. Dunderdale and J. E. Jenkins, 6 up; N. Moore and L. Connolly, 5 up; F. B. Tatham and N. During the weekend members participated in the first qualifying round of the net aggregate which was played in conjunction with the first round of the Captain’s Trophy and the second round of the Saunders Trophy games. Exceptional scoring was the rule, particularly amongst the junior members of the club.

The first qualifying rounds for the Captain’s Trophy and net aggregate were played at Mahunga on Saturday by the lady members of the club. The scoring was good, the following being the best net cards handed in;— Miss B. Taylor, 57 net; Miss M. John-son,-61 net; Mrs A. H. Ward, 66 net; Mrs L. M. Roach, 67 net; Miss C. Cummins, 67 net; Miss E. Calwell, 68 net; Miss F. Polson, 69 net; Miss E. Samson, 70 net.

INTER-CLUB MATCHES. RIVERSIDE BEAT EKETAHUNA. Inter-club matches between the Eketahuna and Riverside Golf Club’s were played during the weekend. In an A grade match at Masterton, Riverside won by 16 games to 5, six being squared. Details are (Riverside players mentioned first in every case): — Men’s singles: J. Bell all square with J. Dixon; Thornton ail square with Page; Candy lost to Frazer; Baker beat Tuckett; Rawlins beat Richardson; Summers lost to Walton; Costello beat Henderson; Clarkson lost to Shale; Skeet all square with Pryde; Henshilwood beat Mcßride; Shearer lost to Wilson; Hatch beat Quinlivan. Men’s fourball: Bell and Thornton beat Dixon and Page; Candy and Baker beat Frazer and Tuckett; Rawlins and Summers beat Richardson and Walton; Costello and Clarkson beat Henderson and Shale; Skeet and Henshilwood beat Pryde and Mcßride; Shearer and Hatch all square with Wilson and Quinlivan. Ladies’ singles: Mrs Rawlins lost to Miss Angus; Miss Bradley beat Mrs Dickson; Mrs Jones all square with Miss O’Donnell; Mrs Clarke all square with Miss Dickson; Miss Wood beat Miss Boyes; Miss Hampton beat Mrs Berney. Ladies’ fourball: Mesdames Rawlins and Jones beat Mrs Dickson and Miss Angus; Miss Bradley and Mrs Clarke beat Misses O’Donnell and Dickson; Misses Wood and Bampton beat Mrs Berney and Miss Boyes. B Grade. In the B grade match played at Eketahuna Riverside won by 16 games to 7, three being squared. Mr B. Braggins, president of the visiting club, thanked the Eketahuna Club for its hospitality and Mr R. Dixon replied. Men’s fourball: Pool and Beecroft lost to Murray and Walton, 1 down; Roff and Braggins all square with Wilson and Greathead; Palamontain and Leigh beat Dickson and Tiradet; Onion and Carruthers all square with Leith and Brown; Wellington and Jones beat Higginson and Carstens. Ladies’ singles: Mrs Palamontain beat Miss O.’Regan; Mrs Beecroft beat Miss Herbert; Mrs Brown beat Miss Simmers; Miss Dixon lost to Mrs Henderson; Miss Shearer beat Mrs McBride; Mrs Naan lost to Mrs SayleReed.
