The funeral of the late Mr Taite Te Tomo, ex-member for* the Western Maori electorate, took place yesterday at Kakariki, near Feilding. A party of sixty members representing the Wairarapa natives were present in charge of Messrs P. H. Paku and Tioi Paku and Mrs Hekenui Boyd. Others present included Sil* A. Ngata, Messrs Tirikatene, M.P., H. T. Ratana, M.P., Rangi Mawhete (representing the Legislative Council), Judges Brown and Shepherd, of the Native Land Court, representatives of the Native Lands Department, the Maori King Koroki and Princess Te Puea as well as a large number of the principal Maori chiefs in the Dominion.
